Join us at Save Talk Radio dot org to keep Conservative Talk Radio alive!

It just happened a few days ago, but we haven’t heard any news of this from major media.

Senator John McCain decided to be a Republican-for-a-day. McCain and fellow Senators John Thune and Norm Colement have introduced legislation to protect our beloved conservative talk radio shows. The legislation would prevent reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine.

McCain feels that imposing such rules would stifle free speech, and says there are plenty of viewpoints in the marketplace. Say, just like this website right here for instance: Save Talk Radio dot org. One cannot forget the thousands of liberal websites and blogs which offer opposing viewpoints. This isn’t the mid 80’s when the movie War Games seemed so cool. He could connect his computer and dial into other computers, and his computer even talked to him like Knight Rider!

We have websites, blogs, podcasts and many other means to express our political views. Which brings up a good point; once you require equal viewpoints on radio, what happens to the Internet? Do liberal websites have to allow Republicans to write 50 percent of the content? How many percentage points do Libertarians get? The questions are endless on this one.

With the majority of the media following the liberal spin of the New York Times, and local media feeding off the same stories and slants, conservative talk radio is all we have to hear the opposing viewpoint. It’s good to see a Republican / Democrat such as Senator John McCain stand up for free speech and the possibility for a true equal voice in U.S. media.
